We need letters
Remember, you homework assignment for this class is to bring in a letter to the editor from a classmate. The letter can be in response to something we published in the last issue, or it can be about what the person would like to read in future issues.

We would like to extend an invitation to Hollywood High School girls to attend our Fiction Workshop next Saturday, February 19th from 11 am-4 pm. There is no cost and lunch will be provided. During this event, special guests, including YA author Cecil Castellucci, will be helping explore the genre.
Please have any interested girls e mail us at writegirlvc@gmail.com The workshop is at:
The Assistance League of Southern California
1370 N. St. Andrews Place (near Sunset and Western)
Los Angeles, CA 90028
Feel free to forward this email to any staff member who you think would have students interested in this Fiction Workshop. If you have a question, please call our office at 213-253-2655

LA Youth Assignment
Your final exam is to read one of the articles in the January/February issue of LA Youth and write the accompanying assignment. I have posted the questions under Class Assignments. Do not simply answer the question. Tell a story. The idea is to generate potential stories for the op/ed or feature pages. Use the LA Youth story as your example.
It is due by the end of class on Tuesday. For those of you who have already turned something in, I will give it back to you on Monday and ask you to read each other's work and give each other feedback on how to improve it.
You should also read the Feature Writing file posted in the box.
