Click on the title above. It's fun. It introduces students to what it's like to be a reporter and it doesn't require any writing. It takes about 15 minutes.

Karina, Maria and I joined 135 students and advisers from as far away as Fresno at the four-day journalism workshop at Cal State Long Beach. At lunch, we walked over to the school's Blue Pyramid athletic stadium.

We've got fans!
Great job on the June issue, everyone! You've all been fun to work with and I appreciate your diligent work on the final today. Below is the text of an email sent to me by a teacher.
I just wanted to let you know, how impressive the school newspaper is becoming. It is clear to me that you are really building a solid program that is benefiting so many students. Just in case few people have commented on how good the paper is, I wanted you to know that some of us notice and appreciate it. This last issue was great and jumped up to the next level. Thanks for all of your hard work.
Let's make it even better next year!

Belated Good Job on April Issue
I was very pleased with the April issue. There is still room for improvement, but our paper is solid. Let's make the May issue even better. We will be entering several issues in National Scholastic Press Association contest. There are also categories for Story of the Year (news, sports, editorial, feature, diversity/multiculturalism), Picture of the Year, Design of the Year, and Cartooning awards. Entry deadline is June 15.
