This issue seemed more difficult than usual to produce. We need to have better communication between editors and reporters. Please don't swap stories without talking to your editor about it first. Make sure you take a photo of every news and sports story you cover. Nearly every story needs some sort of artwork. If it is something that is happening on campus, take a photo!

I agree. This issue was not our best but it was not bad either. We can all do better when it comes to communicating. The upcoming issue will be better! :)
ReplyDeleteVery true. The paper seemed very rushed and there were several spelling and grammar errors in the stories. The layouts were somewhat awkward and there was much spacing that could have been used along the way. I would suggest we prepare our things before a deadline that will be inevitably missed by many.
ReplyDeleteThis issue was not our best work but it is a work in progress. We need to do some work on photoshop so that everyone knows what to do. Name spelling should also be improved by the next issue after the test we took.

The issue contained many interesting stories with nice pictures attached to them. Some of the flaws were the resolution on the pictures on the center spread and the back page, the spelling of our staff's names, and proofreading.

I think editors should communicate more with the reporters.
ReplyDeleteIf the reporters are going to change something they should warn us instead of doing something without saying anything.
This issue is an example that there is more room for improvement. There were mixed reviews with the front cover, some loved it, some did not. Grammar and misinformation(i.e. wrong names) were a problem, which were very criticized by the student body. Also, let's all take an extra step further in writing longer stories!
ReplyDeletethe paper will have its days here it will not be good. but we all put are blood sweat and tears in it just be prepared next time
ReplyDeleteI think this issue was the hardest issue to compose. Although it did not all come out the way we thought it would have, I got a lot of good feed back from the stories. I cannot wait for the next issue. We have more time to write our stories and produce a better quality paper.

I liked this issue, because I got to write about two different sport events. The games are interesting and fun to watch. I can't wait for the next issue, because there are many sport events to cover.

i thought this paper was pretty hectic... but in the end we all got it done. For the next issue there should be more communication with all of us. Overall i thought the stories were good
ReplyDeleteThe paper came out good despite the lack of communication. The articles were very different and more local. The staff wrote a lot about school issues. I heard a lot of positive feedback from the center spread as well.

I am disappointed with how it started to come apart in the end. I am especially upset at the turn out of the back page, mostly because I am responsible for it. I intend to do everything possible to make sure that we publish on time, with proper layouts, and something so amazing that it will require ten critics of mass pedantry to even consider tearing it in two!

we had a strong start, but towards the end, we came completely undone. I feel like the school paper is something to be proud of, but this issue just demonstrated everything we wouldn't want to represent ourselves as. We had a serious lack of communication and focus, which were the ultimate factors in our downfall. Hopefully, we can do better next time, because we are more than capable of it.
